TRANSITION IN PROGRESS / A DIALOGUE PART 1

– Petra Grozaj und Maria Sainz Rueda: Malerei / Installation / Lithographie –

Wandel und Stagnation, Rückschritt und Ruhe, Erfahrung und Frustration, Neubeginn und Wiederholung, Angriff und Verteidigung, Erlebnis und Erinnerung, notwendige Ironisierung und Poetisierung. In diesen Kontext stellen Petra Grozaj (Zagreb) und Maria Sainz Rueda (Leipzig) ihre gemeinsame Ausstellung im Westpol A.I.R. Space. Ein mittels Malerei, Installation und Lithographie geführter Dialog thematisiert die gegenwärtig wieder umfassende und andauernde Wahrnehmung eines Übergangs und deren Zusammenhang mit dem Möglichkeitsraum künstlerischer Praxis.
Die Kooperation wird vom Goethe Institut Kroatien, von Town of Zagreb und ‘Hrvatska kuća- Croatia House’ Foundation unterstützt. 2017 wird sie im Museum of Contemporary Art Zagreb mit einer Ausstellung und einer Katalogpräsentation fortgesetzt.

Change and stagnation, regression and rest, experience and frustration, fresh start and repetition, attack and defense, experience and memory, necessary irony and poetry. That is the context chosen by Petra Grozaj (Zagreb) and Maria Sainz Rueda (Leipzig) for their joint exhibition in the Westpol A.I.R. Space. Their painting, installation and lithography is put in a dialogue, which addresses the currently once more comprehensive and lasting perception of transition and its relation to the possibility space of artistic practice.
The cooperation is supported by the Goethe Institut Croatia, Town of Zagreb, ‘Hrvatska kuća- Croatia House’ Foundation. It will be continued in 2017 with an exhibition and a catalogue release in the Museum of Contemporary Art Zagreb.
